I went into Diana’s RYT200 course not thinking I’d want to teach yoga but just to be away from the “hamster wheel” of life, to undo the effects of the stimulation bombarding us from all directions, and take a deep dive into yoga.
It did that beautifully. The structure of the courses is very well refined. It was a very nice balance of yogic philosophy and history, breaking down the asanas, the human anatomy, mediation, and hands-on practices. It was also a good combination of practical techniques and digestible spiritual teachings. (Not to mention the pleasure to see Karen and Diana’s Yogic abilities to move with grace, like poetry in motion!). Towards the end there were plenty of opportunities to lead classes.
I was impressed by the depth of the teachers’ knowledge. I was even more touched by their commitment to yoga and to their students.
It was not an easy process - at one point it was exhausting - but definitely a worthy one. I left with so much more than I expected - connections between my body and my breath, powerful tools for consciousness, new like-minded friends, and a rekindled drive to find my true self.
And I am confident more than ever that yoga will continue to be the anchor in my life when the “storms” get rough.
And the full effect of this experience has on my life is still unfolding.
